IPCC Review Committee To Hold Public Sessions on May 14 in Amsterdam

The InterAcademy Council (IAC), an organization of the world’s science academies, has convened a committee to conduct an independent review of the procedures and processes of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). At its first meeting on Friday, May 14, at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in Amsterdam, the committee will hear presentations in open session, the audio of which will be webcast live.

The presentations are scheduled from 10:20 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1:30 to 2 p.m CEST. The morning presentations will be made by IPCC Chair Rajendra K. Pachauri and Secretary of the IPCC Renate Christ. The afternoon presentations will be conducted via telephone by Janos Pasztor, Director of the U.N. Secretary-General’s Climate Change Support Team, and Achim Steiner, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme.

The meeting will be held in the Tinbergen Room at the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, Het Trippenhuis, Kloveniersburgwal 29, Amsterdam.
